π¨π¦π Team Qanada at Quantum World Congress
Canada's quantum ecosystem shone brightly at last week's Quantum World Congress in the Greater Washington, DC area, demonstrating our nation's global leadership in this frontier field.
From honouring pioneers to showcasing innovative startups to discussing key policy issues, Canadian representatives across industry, research, and government made their mark. β Here are a few highlights from the week: β π Gilles Brassard, one of the earliest pioneers of quantum information science, was honoured for developing BB84 (40 years ago!) and pioneering quantum cryptography β π₯ SBQuantum placed 3rd in the pitch competition, and Anyon Systems was among the top 7 finalists β π Phantom Photonics was chosen as one of only 10 companies to advance to Phase II of the NATO DIANA program
π 8 QIC members were featured in the Canadian Quantum Showcase, including Xanadu, Anyon Systems, Nord Quantique, D-Wave, SoftwareQ, Qubic Technologies, Phantom Photonics, and the Quantum Valley Ideas Lab β π evolutionQ's CEO and QIC Board Chair Michele Mosca gave a plenary on "Cyber Resilience in the Quantum Age"
Look out for highlights on QIC's LinkedIn and in the next issue of Quantum, Eh? π
